Science Quiz on Monday: Density, weight, mass and volume

The Grade 7/8 class has been so extremely busy over the last few weeks. We have been practising our Muskoka Spirit Presentation, and getting ready for our big trip. We are leaving Tuesday, May 3rd at 5 AM, and are returning around 4 pm in the afternoon on Friday. The kids are super pumped. All of the clothing has come in for our Grade 8s, so now all we have to do is pack and go!

We are asking students to be here at 4:30 on Tuesday. Yes, that's AM! Students, don't forget your gray T-shirt and journal!!

DANCE TEAM

The dance team has been practicing tirelessly over the last few months in preparation for our big competition at L'Essor High School on May 14th, starting at 1 pm. We are asking students to arrive at L'Essor for 12:30, no earlier.

Drama Assignment: Recreating a Movie scene

Everyone has been to the movies at some point or another. A movie is the result of a director and actors recreating a script, and making it come to life. Now you will have a turn making your own movie scene.

In your assignment you will choose a three to five minute scene from an appropriate movie of your choice. This means choosing a movie rated PG or G. Your scene can be no longer than five minutes, no shorter than three. Your job is to recreate this scene using costumes and props as closely to the original as possible.

Success Criteria:

Stay in character. This means becoming your character, and not laughing during the scene.
Face the audience
Props and costumes are used
Time limit is met
Scene is as close to the original as possible.

You will have until Monday May 16th. On this day we will present our scenes.

Earth Day

We celebrated Earth Day by watching the video below and discussing ways we can clean up our Earth. We then took a walk around the neighbourhood to pick up litter. Way to help out Comets!
