Book Talk Rubric

Book Talk Success Criteria:

Book Talk:

  • All sections of the checklist have been fulfilled.
  • Speaker makes eye-contact with the audience.
  • Speaker is comfortable at the front of the room
  • Speaker uses an appropriate volume, and voice adjusts as he/she is speaking
  • The talk is interesting, and keeps the audience wanting to learn more about the book.
Written Component:
  • is neat, organized
  • if it is artistic, it is pleasing to the eye.
  • explains all of the elements of the novel: setting, characters, plot (all elements of plot), point of view, theme, type of conflict.
  • all main events are accounted for.
  • is detailed-I can understand the story from beginning to end without reading it.
